An interesting lesson here. Relying on previous experience, I did a manual colour balance before the performance started:
incandescent lights with a touch of something else, OK? But when the performance started this didn't help at all:
somewhere out the back there was a new graduate from the local College of Colour Effects and Lighting Technology
with a bank of switches, a nervous tic and a dislike of photographers. The performance was good, though.
