Quoting from "Discovering Historic Burra" by G.J.Drew, published by the National Trust of South Australia:
• The first of these cottages was built by James Tiver in 1856 for his family •Tiver arrived in South Australia in 1854
and was employed as a mason at the Burra Smelting Works. •Tiver erected many buildings in Burra, such as the Railway Station
and Redruth Methodist Church and eventually became a pioneer grazier. •Tiver's Row now offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation.
