Beach at Lake Mournpall

Hattah-Kulkyne National Park, Victoria view map

The lake is dry. It fills from the Murray River when the river floods, and it hasn't
flooded for a long time, apparently. But the beach still looks like a beach, with the
big river gums leaning over it. The trees on the right of this picture look as though
they are all the same age; they must have been on the edge of the lake at one stage.
Beyond this is another less obvious beach, then more trees, and then the dry lake bed.
If you click on 'view map' you will see the lake as seen in 2022. Bit it was bone dry when I was there.
