Picture taken from the bus on the way from Kunming to the Stone Forest. This narrow-gauge railway
runs to Hekou on the Vietnamese border. From Lao Cai, over a bridge on the Vietnamese side, there
is a twice-daily, ten-hour train to Hanoi. All part of the planned Singapore-Kunming "Pan-Asia Railway".

2005 info: The Chinese part of the line has been abandoned, to be replaced one day by a standard-gauge line.
