Galen, for dreaming on
Crag Cove, Middle Harbour, Sydney view map
This was my boat, a Compass Northerner, built 1970 or so. It lived on this mooring on Middle Harbour. I used to
visit it, tinker with it, feed the ducks, read a book, make myself a coffee, and fantasise about sailing it
out through the heads. But I couldn't maintain it and eventually sold it for almost nothing.
The previous owner told me that Galen is the name of an Irish wizard. But the only Galen I can find out about is the
second-century physician who dissected the losers in gladiatorial contests and wrote books based on his findings.
