Taken from a lookout at Balgowlah Heights, during a walk from Manly to Spit Bridge. (I recommend this walk to
visitors to Sydney, feeling fit and with a few hours to spare from the usual tourist activities.) There are shacks
in the bush near the water's edge, built during the depression years, still the subject of debate about whether
they should be removed as inappropriate in a national park or preserved as interesting historical relics. That's
North Head in the distance, a Manly ferry this side of it. The main harbour extends to the right of this picture.
