We paid a silent old lady in a tiny booth beside the road, then walked up a steep path past a
donkey to the "Famine Cottages", to see a poignant portrayal of the sufferings of the local Irish
when the potato crop failed in the 1840s. And learned that Ireland was exporting food all the time.
