Burnt Church

Actually it was a Chapel of Ease, i.e. an outlying chapel in the parish which afforded parishioners and their dependents a shorter journey for their twice yearly required attendance for the census during the colonial times. This chapel, The Chapel of Ease for St. Helena Parish, was built in 1746 of tabby stucco and brick, and destroyed in a fire in 1886.
