Joining me on this beautiful spring day was Carl, John and Cheryl, Israel and Rosa. We met at Bickfords, RTE 125, Haverhill. We left around 9:30AM...up RTE121 to RTE111 and back onto RTE125, heading north. Jumping onto RTE16 in Rochester NH, we headed to RTE11. In Farmington, we turned onto the most southerly part of RTE153. For the next 40-some miles, we enjoyed the twists and turns of RTE153...making a brief rest stop along the shores of Province Lake. Continuing north, we finished the entire length of RTE153 up into Conway NH. Pulling off for gas in Conway, we decided to head south into Meredith, NH via RTE25 to RTE3....and have lunch at Harts Turkey Farm. I love this place, and the food is always great! Just whats needed to refuel a body! It was already 3:45pm when we finished lunch and decided on a more southerly-direct route home. We headed toward RTE11, which took us along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee (still had ice on it!) and down into the traffic circle in Alton Bay. From there we retraced our steps back to Farmington NH, jumped on RTE16 for a brief jaunt...hooking up with RTE125 in Rochester, NH. One more gas stop at the Lee traffic circle, and headed on the final leg of the ride.
I arrived home around 6:15pm, with 220miles on the clock....and I was the 'lightweight' for the day. John and Cheryl came from Wilmington, Carl from Westford, and Israel and Rosa from Lowell. These folks must have been pushing 300miles for the day! "Kudos" go to Israel and Rosa...this was their longest ride yet. I don't think they expected it to be such a long ride, but I certainly hope they enjoyed themselves. NH has some beautiful sights and some great roads. Sorry about RTE11D Rosa...I know those frost heaves were not making you a happy camper. I hope your walking ok today...:-)
Thanks to everyone for joining me on this trip! I enjoyed spending the day with you, and leading this impressive group of bikes along some of my favorite NH roads. Hope to see you all again soon!
