As I explained to someone, this butterfly had already passed on when I found it laying in the gutter & since I can never get the live ones to stay still long enough I brought it home. The flowers you will notice are artificial...well it was raining & blowing a gale outside.
The background is a garden shrub outside the window. The light was lousy both inside and out !!

This & the one I posted yesterday are both straight from the camera, resized & sharpened only.

Canon EOS 350D
1/6s f/2.8 at 60.0mm iso100 full exif

Ha! I would not ave guessed. You know I like the dark version.. lots of atmosphere to it.

Terrific work. I wouldn't have guessed the butterfly is no longer amongst the living, or that the flowers are not real.

Well set up Laine...in total agreement with all that royalld said!!!

Man-made flowers and lifeless butterfly with a gale in the background?
I would not have guessed it. You did a great job of setting this up.
It makes me wonder about the pictures I see on the news.

I would like to look so beautiful when I`m dead one day! Wonderful Laine!
Guest 12-Sep-2006 12:11
Still very nice - I wondered about the scratches in the wing before I read the caption. I was lucky enough to grab a nice Monarch shot on the hydrangeas the other day - it's due for a PP and a post!

The butterdly certainly does not look very "alive" (at least when you see the feet you will notice that something is wrong with him), but I never would have guessed that the flowers are artificial. As JD noted, a dead butterfly on an artificial flower, that is something very special. As for the light, I think you are doing very well under such conditions. Nicely done!
