Its really good to see an old signal of a British design still holding the fort here! Once in a while we do see an old abandoned line over here that re-opens, but its never the same...

I agree, love how nature moves in. Great shot, Laine.

I personally think these shots are special..
Nature taking back what was before..

It looks sad when the train rail is not in use anymore. It's like the same of an abandoned place. Wonderful shot Laine :)

Love the wildflowers growing through the tracks!

Reminds me of some of our train delays. ;-)

Interesting questions below. I have to vote the tracks should be cleared for service and the highways let overgrow as this is. Good one, Laine.

maybe it could be put back into action

I love it, laine.
I love the combination of green, gress, trees, flowers and mundane, railway, etc.
Beautiful sky too.

Interesting picture. Our disused lines have all the track removed...

Interesting to see Buz's comment as I wondered if this was sad or hopeful.

Love the way nature is taking over.
Jackdad11-Dec-2005 17:40
interesting display of wildflowers there. I agree with Cindy - remove the rails and you'd have a great walky-place! ;-)

The wildflowers are nice. Can be a future hiking trail.
Cindy Flood11-Dec-2005 15:12
Looks like a great site for a future bike/hiking trail. The wildflowers really add a nice touch.

a long wait for the next train
Buz Kiefer11-Dec-2005 13:29
Progress or decline?

Nice one Laine.

Nice shot

The Train doesn't stop here any more. Great contrast between the tended areas ans the neglect. Time to reclaim.

The overgrown-ness!
