Storey Bridge, Brisbane.

Divided by the Brisbame River the Storey Bridge is one of several ways to access north & south of the city. On New Years Eve of the last night of the last century we stood on this bridge to greet the new millennium, hard to believe it's almost 6 years ago...especially since I don't look a day older...hahahaha, yeah right !!

While my husband drove I took some drive by shots since we had to be in the city yesterday.. You can view them here http://www.pbase.com/laine82/city_sights
a nice place to stay if your on a budget

A nice old pub

How to solve city parking or to advertise your product to the full advantage. Right in the centre of the street...unfortunately I had to grab this quickly from inside the car.

Excellent steel construction.

I haven't done any monochrome yet and this is a fine example inspiring me to.Also, I love bridge photos. That stack of cars was at the sydney motor a few years back too. ~V~

Nice shot Laine, looks really good in mono - vote.

A bit jealous would have liked to have blue sky for my bridge photos.

Superb shot Laine! I don't remember this bridge when we visited your
fair city back in the 70's - is it fairly new?

nice! not so keen on the lack of a central reservation... that would be frightening
Guest 29-Aug-2005 06:12

Jackdad28-Aug-2005 15:34

very cool shot. i love bridges like this.
Gary Winters27-Aug-2005 21:40
Great shot, especially in blacka nd white. Love the composition. If you rotated the image horizontally, would the cars be on the "right" side of the street? I'll be puzzling over that for a while.... LOL

A fun thing to do is to break down in the middle on the bridge late on a Friday afternoon during peak hour ... love the tones of this! :)
Mindy McNaugher27-Aug-2005 00:38

Excellent shot, Laine. Wonderful engineering feat, too. Glad to know where you were to welcome in the year 2000.

Guest 26-Aug-2005 21:55
the work on the bridge surely gives it a retro feel.

Guest 26-Aug-2005 21:18
I find something scary about no central barrier. It's certainly an impressive structure.
Guest 26-Aug-2005 20:54
This is a really good picture of a bridge! I like the composition a lot, and your black and white too!
I also love to take pictures in the car, when I don't drive!
