If my specs made some think of Harry Potter, then here are some that his great, grandfather may have worn. Have no idea of their age but they are well over the century & more.
Best viewed in original to see the detail of the cloth & cotton across the bridge which is slowly turning to dust with age.

Funny that Don refers to them as Benjamin Franklin's glasses as that's what I've always called them too. His face is always the one I conjur up when I wonder who wore them.

that bridge across the nose must have been itchy. these look so uncomfortable

Whoa - those are way old. Agree on the Ben Franklin, but Harry Potter also comes to mind. I think it's so cool that these have been saved in the family.
