Now in the last stages of winter, the lavender is at it's most brilliant. Despite a cool rise to the day the bees are out there & through their frenzied movements I managed this shot.

Don't know how I missed this -- great shot! We are winding our way toward autumn and the bees are getting a little more relaxed (for the most part) so it's easier to capture them now than it was earlier in the year when they were all gung ho for nectar.

Excellent shot Lanie82! great details and great composition!
I know how hard it is to catch dem.... LOL
but I am still interested why that bumble bees flying only around Lavender??
I've got some flowers in my terrace and bunch of lavender. The bees only fly over the lavender and most of the bumble bees shots in pabse are mostly with lavender!
cheers

Takes a bit of a mental shift when you talk about the ending of winter. It is so miserably hot here. Wonderful hairy bee.
