The main eastern gatehouse of Bamburgh Castle dates primarily to the 12th century. It features rounded towers flanking a tunnel-vaulted archway, though much of the upper structure was rebuilt in the late 19th century. Earlier medieval and Anglo-Saxon access points, like St Oswald's Gate, date back to the 7th and 8th centuries
