Beds, Richmond Convict Gaol

They had nothing more than slabs built of wood in these small and cold cells. Not all of us came from convict ancestry but those who did know they come from hardy stock, many not deserving of such harsh penalties and many who went on to become the finest of the early pioneering white Australians.

Tasmania is beautiful, but I'm sure they never saw it as such.
