The Hazards, Coles Bay

The range is positioned between Coles Bay and Wineglass Bay and are said to be named after local whaler, African-American Captain Richard Hazard.

I wonder how the first 'Hazard' got his surname? Maybe he was someone to be avoided! But quite often we discover it has nothing to do with the meaning we are familiar with today.

I see... I was wondering what the hazards must be, but its just named after the Captain. Interesting to see that beautiful blue sea reflecting the pure azure of the sky. v
