Yamba

We were there 2 weeks ago but now as this ex tropical cyclone Oswald continues to move further south it has inundated the coast of NSW too. Yamba, Iluka and other coastal town are cut off by the run of swollen rivers running to the sea.

Thanks to you all for your kind messages. Our bridge finally opened yesterday and we once again were in contact with the world on the other side..sadly though we learned one of our local business owners lost his life I believe from drowning ( story not yet confirmed ) while the chap running the service station remained trapped and had to camp in there his home was apparently robbed because some LOW LIFES take every opportunity they can.

That is so sad about the life lost... and the terrible folks who take advantage of people's misery.

It looks like beautiful weather now in this bright and colorful image. I'm sorry to hear about all the problems the storm caused.

So sad about your local businessman.....
Life looks so normal and changes so quickly. Hopefully the east coast will soon return to normal.
