Together Jorja, Emily & Daddy 12/1/2010

Brief moments together.

Emily has a CVL inserted under the skin into her veins near her heart in her chest so that all intraveneous treatment can be delivered through it for the following 2 years...the challenge is to keep it in place & infection free. When this shot was taken her 2nd dose of chemotherapy was being administered, then she was given more platelets following. Once these were completed the machines would be removed & her lines tucked in under the elastic band around her chest & she would be free for 24 hours, unless something else was required to be given in the meantime.

the beauty of children, when everyone else is falling to bits around them they just stand up and keep you all smiling

Emily is keeping a close eye on her Nana photographer. It is great to see herself and Jorja getting on with their normal life, helped by their dad, mum and all the extended family. Oodles of hugs across the oceans and airstreams to them both.

A lovely shot Laine. I see she is after the light switch, a favourite occupation at that age.

It's difficult to imagine, looking at Emily, that she has such a hill to climb.
Beautiful image, Laine.

Ohhh, that precious child. The only bad part about this is she cannot talk yet, so cannot tell you how she feels. Big hug to all of them.

I am touched by the story. She is a real fighter.
She will be well, she will.

I had a port too. I'm so sorry that she has to have it in for 2 years. Still praying and give those lovely babies a huge hug and kiss from me! I feel in my heart that little Emily will beat this thing. She has thousands of people praying for her!

A sweet shot and luckily Emily doesn't look too perturbed at her treatment.
