# 23 ~ toast and honey

Thanks to those who commented on yesterday's discussion
on Pbase speed. It prompts me to ask if you know you
don't have to wait for your comment to be accepted before exiting...??

Once you click it begins loading...exit right away, then come back in you will see
your comment in place...I think for most it's watching & waiting which causes the frustration.

Fellow pbaser Herb Knufken taught me this trick a long time back & it always works. I groan when I think of the time I wasted before knowing this...

My new ( this account ) is speedy....my old account still slow at log in which can only be the weight of content I believe.

others cooking & eating up a storm can be found over here http://form.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=42043

Graet image Laine, I love honey, especially Manuka honey.
I'm always reminded of the lines from 'The Old Vicarage' by Rupert Brooke

"Say, is there Beauty yet to find?
And Certainty? and Quiet kind?
Deep meadows yet, for to forget
The lies, and truths, and pain?... oh! yet
Stands the Church clock at ten to three?
And is there honey still for tea?"

Thanks for the tip about leaving comments. Sometimes I feel like punching the screen waiting for them to load.

I'm not addicted to honey. I can stop eating it anytime I want to.
It's just that I don't want to stop.
Great close up.

One of my most favorite things to have for breakfast! That and a butt load of bacon! Yummy!

Delicious looking image. Great colors and lighting.
Your trick does work, but I just have each comment open up in a different window. Today they're taking between 5 and 10 seconds to load. Not too bad.

Zak's photos of the ships tied in with a newspaper article in Scotland or Denmark and he had over 79,000 hits in one day so that could have slowed PBase also.

That looks so rich and sweet. :)
Yes often 'refreshing' soon after makes the image upload or comments get there faster too.

Mmmm... delicious. Good tip too! I found that out by trial and error: once I wanted to delete a comment with an error in it, and because it was so painfully slow I thought I'd be able to arrest it. No way! So after that I zipped out to other tabs to leave comments when necessary. I also cleared out my pmail files recently and that helped speed things up too.
