Madinat Al-Zahra, Cordoba, Spain

Conjuncto Arqueologica (archeological site) at Madinat Al-Zahra, near Cordoba, Spain. The palace-city on a hillside was built in the 10th century, with aqueducts providing water. Within 100 years, it was sacked and abandoned, finally being excavated in 1911. The Arabic designs are evident in the ruins.
