Huge halo around the sun in the late afternoon, over Cape Cod Bay in Wellfleet, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
A very rare natural phenomenon - to see such a halo so clearly. Caused by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere.
An argument to carry your camera with you at all times, you never know what you will see!
This image received an honorable mention in the 599th PBase Show & Tell Competition: Shooting into the light/sun

Cool sun dog. I got a moon dog earlier around Thanksgiving:
Apparently occur mostly in winter.
