Mercury transit of the sun, seen as the dot in the lower left.
Unfortunately there was light cloud cover, diffusing the image. The striations of the clouds can be seen across the surface of the sun. Black and white conversion was the only way to get a clear view of Mercury. The planet was really moving along; you could see its position change between my first and later pictures.
Taken with a 1.4x extender and a solar filter allowing direct images of the sun.

Very cool. The only way I can take a picture like that is when there is a dust bunny on my sensor.
