This is a test shot the day prior to the August 21, 2017 eclipse, working out conditions with a new solar filter.
I found that under-exposing is best to bring out details such as the sunspots, evident in the center and on the left edge of the sun.
You can see that the surface of the sun is uneven, particularly towards the edge.
