This is the first of what will be several galleries from a trip to the Peruvian Amazon, where we stayed in the Inkaterra Riserva Amazonica, an eco-lodge that is accessible only by boat down the Madre de Dios river from Puerto Maldonado. The photos are along the Anaconda Wetland walk from the Lodge. The path went through dense, wet jungle, and then up many stairs to a tree canopy walk. The photos convey the incredible density and diversity of plant life in the jungle. Few of the images have direct sunlight- the tree canopy darkened the understory even at mid-day.
