I usually take slides and then send off for an Ilfochrome print. For this vision, I took two rolls, which is large number for me, with a tripod, in our yard where we have this antique rose bush. The print was first shown in the 2004 Bluegrass Biennial exhibit at Morehead State University.
My parents are divorced, and none of the daughters or granddaughters has wanted to use the veil, so tears from thorns have become part of its story. I have not shown the photo to my mother, now age 91, married in 1939.
