These photos of a lady matador were taken at a bloodless bullfight in LaGloria, Texas. There
are very few female matadors and the bloodless part does not make the bull less fierce or
dangerous. To win the contest, the matador must move in close enough to grab the
attached flowers on a bull’s back.


Artist Bio:

Carol Hollon Rice is a former high school business teacher and owner of Rice Photography.
Carol has a M.A. degree plus 0 hours in education from the University of Kentucky.
Digital photography has given Carol a glimpse into the various venues not available with
film. She is enthralled with the digital darkroom and continually learns new techniques.
Carol cherishes photography and said, ‘To capture the essence of moments in time, which will
never be repeated, is a special mission and will be worth a thousand words for present and
future generations.’
