I like all this series, it's a pity I forgot to let you know about it earlier. Sometimes I peruse a whole gallery, picture after picture and then I forget to leave a trace of my passage. I like the way you captured the small houses in different seasons and conditions.

I know it has been awhile, but please feel free to contact me with the name of the book about lockhouse 36. I walk by it several times a week and have become very interested in it. In fact, that is how I found this page. There is a wood slat house that sits behind the lock and I was hoping to find out something about it. It would probably be mentioned in that book? Thanks!!

I've hiked and biked the canal many times from Cumberland to Brunswick when I lived in Martinsburg, WV. I now live in Virginia and don't get to the Canal as often as I like. This brings back memorys. Thanks for sharing.

My great grandfather, Noah Nalley, was a tender at Lock #43. He drowned in the lock on September 10, 1900 under suspicious circumstances.

my teacher made us read this one book about lock house 36 its was so boring at 1st, but as I read more it tured out to be very interesting. I'm still kinda upset I had to spend my weekends reading, but Its cool now. lol
