This part of the south end of the San Francisco bay has many sloughs and also salt ponds that have been artificially created in times past. It seems that salt was manufactured from the brackish water once upon a time, and that process had changed the ecosystem in a negative way. The goal is to return the tidal marshes back to the way it used to be.
