Smoky Mountains - The Second day

Lovely views from the patio of the condo this morning.

We thought we would take it easy today but we ended up on a hike that was more difficult than expected. After walking upstream along Little River trail to the intersection with Huskey Gap trail, we took a detour on the Cucumber Gap trail while returning. That was a good climb.

Lunch was tuna salad sandwiches and fruit on the side of the Little River in the Little River Gorge on the road to Cades Cove.

We drove on the loop around Cades Cove without visiting any of the local sights. There are tons of trails in this area!

We had to take an emergency trip to Pigeon Forge to get me some new shoes for hiking since the ones I had just bought where chafing at my ankle and causing a lot of pain. We had no time to go back to the condo and cook and ended up with frozen pizza brought from the grocery store.
