Vietnam Memorial, July 22, 2005

I strolled down early one very hot, humid summer morning to visit the Vietnam Memorial on the Mall, hoping to beat the crowds. As I waited for the few visitors to clear, I met Ron (Mack) Mackedanz, who served with Bandido Charlie Company, 1st of the 16th, and was wounded twice in combat. He was setting up placards below the names of his fallen comrades before a reunion visit of others from his company later that day. It was an honor to photograph him, honoring his fellow heros who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
