Haunted Amusement Park Visit - October 4, 2006

Had to go to the Matoaka clinic. Lake Shawnee is just down the road so afterwards, I went for a short walk. They are always short walks there because I get really creeped out by myself.

It's not just the rustlings in the underbrush and the circles that appear on the lake's surface even though there is nothing dropping into it. There's always something else.

This time the panic button on my car went off three times during the first few minutes onto the property. I was expecting Gaylord to show up with a shotgun at any moment. Nothing like annoucing your arrival on property clearly posted "No Trespassing."

Then there's the photos themselves. I suppose I could blame it on the mist but they always come out soft as if I'm using a special lens.

When I returned to my car, I put my keys on the passenger seat and my cameras away. Went to pick up my keys and they were gone. I searched everywhere, alongside the console, under the seats. No keys.

I told myself, ok, they didn't disappear off the face of the planet. Got out and took a short walk to calm myself, thinking Gaylord's probably half way here by now.

Went back to the car and there were my keys sitting in the middle of the driver's seat.

For those of you who don't know, Lake Shawnee, was featured last October on ABCFamily's Scariest Places on Earth which will air again this year.
