The appetite of Tyranny feeds upon the Tyranny of the Appetite.

Opium Wars.

I like the new attitude :)

very nice, a church that doesn't just preach to the choir.

excellent find

Treatment has to be the answer. Most of our federal prisoners are there for drug violations and it costs at least $32,000 a year to house each of them.

Nice to see some common sense breaking out. All the evidence I see is that Jail is a boot camp for criminal offenders and offers nothing to the (basically) innocent people.

Excellent shot Karen. Thanks for sharing this.

Your message is as clear as the photo itself Karen. Well done.

I agree. Jail and punishment are not the answers. Treatment, support and dialogue go a long way toward understanding and a cure.

Agree with Brad. Let's try to get them out of that to start with! Thanks for your testimony, Karen!

Beautiful shot. I agree with Larry's comments.

Well put Larry....I agree it take the community....churches to help these people, jail is never the solution to this ever growing problem~ Now it takes the will of th addict to want the help~

Nice find, you have said it all Karen.
Larry Ahern12-Sep-2006 15:43
Yeah I never could understand taking someone who has nothing and even less hope, throwing them in jail and expecting something good to come out. Kindness not retribution ... patience not pity ...
Barb12-Sep-2006 15:21
Hope the church can reach the people and change the habits. Nice shot

Great shot of the sensible approach.

The first step towards a cure is finding someone who really cares.
Let us hope that this church has that someone.

A very eye-catching sign.

Nice shot, Karen, and your words are right on. The "Hines" sign reminds me that there are at least 57 ways to get addicted, but very few ways to find a cure. Once again you have shown us all what a great eye you have Karen. TFS.

Good shot, Karen, and true words. Between prescription drugs and meth, our state is struggling to control a wildfire of addictions.
Jill12-Sep-2006 11:53
now this is a church that is not judgemental, no pretensions.

Jailing addicts will never work, as they say theres more drugs to be had in the jail system, its out of control because, being a black market, there is no control over the market. The best thing we can do is control the market as best as possible to keep people from starting in the first place. Once they are hooled, it will be a life-long battle. This sign is a great find, an unusual sight in my oppinion, an in your face, we can help you!
