As an added note, I was checking the PAD after your picture was posted and saw one by Bryan Ramsay. You should check it out. It shows the resilience of nature. There's hope in that.

The problem is, in my view, that man sees "his convenience" as the same as Beauty. Just ask a modern businessman which is more beautiful - a skyscrapper, a balanced budget sheet, or your yellow flower. He will quickly dismiss the flower and hedge between the other two. So it's no wonder.
