Can't decide which I like best :):) The foreboding skies really create a dark mood and you can almost smell the spring rain about to fall. Wonderful shot.
Sheila19-Apr-2006 08:31
Both great shots.
Good choice of song to go with them.
Karen Leaf19-Apr-2006 04:11

Greg Harp18-Apr-2006 22:05
Excellent shots Karen, and a terrific Bob Dylan song. Very appropriate for these times...

Nice shot !
Richard Vance18-Apr-2006 20:43
I really like the stark simplicity and implied message in the steeple shot! The lightpole is nice but would like it better from a lower perspective without the foliage..just the lamp against the sky.
Good to see you are still shooting with that creative eye, Karen!
My best to you, my WVA friend!
Dick:)

Beacons.
It would be nice to have a strong beacon when the hard rain falls.
Guest 18-Apr-2006 15:22
I guess you got the heavy storms up there...we only got the southern tip in CLT, it didnt even look like it had rained a few hours later...nice Bob Dylan lyrics
jypsee18-Apr-2006 15:19
Your steeple photo is excellent; really "speaks."
Bryan Murahashi18-Apr-2006 15:08
This tower and roof really stands out from the gray, ominous background.
Great shot and V.
Bob B.18-Apr-2006 14:35

s_barbour18-Apr-2006 12:07
Wow Karen, those skies are so dramatic. I do like the shot with the light as well.
Is that a bird on the top of the church?
laine8218-Apr-2006 12:05
I love the additions to what are otherwise images of nature, Karen. Cannot select one over the other but i can vote for each !
Gary Hebert18-Apr-2006 12:05
very nice Karen... I prefer the light... :)
Guest 18-Apr-2006 11:59
Love the Dylan quote! Like Dylan? Anyway, I looked for a long time at the larger picture, not the church one, and kept wondering about the light pole. Should it be there? I kept imagining the scene without it. Finally, I figured out what I was thinking. The scene without the light pole would be nature alone. With the pole, man has entered into the scene. Both are great scenes, but I prefer nature alone. Of course, the pole provides a kind of perspective, comparing the works of nature to the works of man. And I'll have to admit, this particular work of man isn't that bad. But nature's is fantastic.

Very good lighting against the dark background. Cool shot!
