The Front of the Bus

West Virginia

A different view of my PAD yesterday. Btw, I didn't write the quiz. It was sent to me via email. No idea who the original author is. But if you liked that, here's another site you might find interesting.

I love shots like this! The history inherent in this scene, the stories that could be told, are wonderful. And the image itself is captivating with all those warm fall hues. VVV

Very nice. Looks like a fairly old, classic bus rusting away here.

Very cool bus just rotting away in mountains....personally I like this perspective best :)
Guest 26-Mar-2006 20:39
very nice, that bus must be from the 40s or 50s, if not older. I wonder how long its been there and if anyone lived in it.

I'm loving this.
There seem to so many gems you photograph in the mountains.

Very nice composition...always makes me feel kind of sad when I see abandoned things...at one point and time someone was very excited to have that bus...it had life and was used now it just sits there. At least it makes for an interesting picture :-)

Nice composition Karen, a little repair work needed.

I like the colors and comp. Those twisty trees/shrubs look interesting, too....

From the standpoint of someone who likes old vehicles, this is a classic. The little house added makes it all look so desolate.

Excellent shot Karen. I like the way the shack helps define the angle of the slope.
joanteno26-Mar-2006 14:29
Like this one a lot - Did you do some close ups?
Guest 26-Mar-2006 14:20
Nicely composed and full of great detail. Well done.

Hi Karen, Catchy title, sometimes the front of the bus isn't that good either. :) Interesting composition and subject. Good winter timing.

An excellent and interesting shot!

This is a great shot. The bus itself is fabulous, that quaint little building is the icing on the cake.

Nice shot. Once I moved to a mountainous area of Virginia with my small son. Everyone there told him that one leg would grow longer than the other, because he would always be walking on a slope, like your picture shows, and the higher leg would end up shorter and the lower longer. Didn't happen. But can you imagine the difficulty of getting a shed like the one shown to be level?
