I'm sure enjoying looking at your pictures of Bluefield. I've sent a link to your pics to my father who was born and raised in Bluefield, WV. Graduated from Graham in 1958. I would love to see any and all pictures you have for this area, since I'm researching my roots. Thanks for the beautiful pics that remind us of a simpler time.

for the "artistic" side, I agree that the snow is not welcome . . that being said I actually like THIS pic with it. Of course I DON'T have to shovel it so I can lke it all I want, huh, Karen =)

Interesting composition; I like the snow (but, not the shovel :^)

Ok, I'm a Bluefield native and can't figure out where this is. I love the photo. You always have a very interesting angle, and I love the snow falling. The snow adds a touch of softness to the structures. Great job!

Well you could move to here :>) ( to avoid snowflakes that is ) but I suspect you would miss all these wonderful places you manage to find...love it, snow & all.

I think the snow works well with the B&W Karen. Nice shot.

b&w was the way to go..

I like the snow in this one, Karen. Such a old time winter urban scene. The window frame looks like it could pop out anytime.

Like the snow in the photo, but agree with the sentiment, "still snowing!"

Nice old factory, the old fashioned extractor fan indicates total obsolescence.

I love this is black and white.

Another "slice of life" from your corner of the world. Thanks for documenting life for us all.

I like the flakes of snow in the forground.

Nice shot. LIke their slogan. Wonder if they are still in business.

The snow adds an ambiance.

I agree that the snow really adds to this picture. It gives it that cold stark touch, like the place is closed up and forgotten about.

I like the touch of season the flakes lend to this shot.
And yes, we put many boundaries around ourselves.
Some say, "Lines on the map are necessary so governments can 'officiate' and people can have a sense of hometown".
I say, "The snow doesn't care. No border can stop it. It will fall on both Virginias and Ohio too, if the air is right. Then both Bluefields will have white fields." :>)

........but the snow is a beautiful thing! ;)
