Name this Tree

West Virginia

I know it's a flower but it grows on a tree next to my porch. You can't see the tree because I ALWAYS have to use the flash since the wind blows continuously here. It has large, broad ovate leaves. Any ID would be appreciated. People are always asking me what this is. I've always liked the inky look of the pattern on the flowers but the tree itself is always shedding something year round and is a real PITB. :)

Hey Karen, do they last about a day, and then turn brown and fall off?? Smell like heaven? Look like this flower?http://www.pbase.com/kleaf/image/45256521.
If so I want to know too.

Good work Breland. Karen I love the close up image. We grew a Catalpa at our first home. Superb shade trees with those broad leaves.

I like how you made it look so big. That fooled me! Nice shot Karen

Wow ! Dis Breland ever nail this - looks like the very same flower. Nice photo Karen of an unusual species (for us'ns up here).

I think Breland is correct. And, you are fortunate to have one. They are not as common as they once were. Beautiful bloom up close. Do you have caterpillar problems with it?

No idea, but the flowers are pretty

That would help. I have no idea what this is. It's very pretty.

Don't know what tree it is but it is a pretty flower. Post a shot of the leaves to help ID.
