Thanks for showing us this part of the world! I do like the bedspring-gates (but not next door to me!) Our neighbors have a metal giraffe in the yard that they probably think is fine art.

I can understand saving things, never know.. but I draw the line at saving them outside for the decay, and the world to see... sure makes an interesting study tho.

Wow. Can I just say, "What LC said."? He put it well. This does have a lot of interest in it.

Sheeze.. I hate that you can't edit after you post. Oh well, it has my trademark typos. :)

Karen, I like this shot for the story it tells. What makes this image powerful is its ability to tell a story. I was reading an article the other day about the challenge in telling stories with images, the author wrote: "This challenge - shooting the story in a single shot - isn't easy. By comparison, it makes perfecting the technical aspects of an image look like child's play."

Some of my images may be technically sound but I think the thing the seperates good photograghers from great ones is the ability to go beyond the technically sound to a pov that tell the story. This image does that. You many find this article interesting:http://www.photo.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=20574

Well..one person's trash is another's treasure. Lots of "treasures" here!

It's not hard to believe folks live like this....there's lots of places like you've depicted here, as well as my home state of Wisconsin... my brother uses an old bed spring to level his garden every spring.

I like this, goes with the saying “What Ever Works”.

It's hard to believe that people actually live in places like this. The other side of life. Nice shot, Karen.

Oh this is tremendously creative indeed. Today is the unveiling of the christo gates here in central park. Perhaps the next big exhibit might be the box spring gates of WV?
