great shot of this engine....love the contrast of the black with the beautiful blue sky behind it and white snow below it.

It's funny but I have never photographed a train, suprising since I think I would be intrigued by all there is to explore with my camera.

Like this little car in the foreground, particularly the texture of rust and metal... and those wheels are great with all their curves especially painted with low light. What you shown here is a strong composition, the modern engine all painted nice and black and the little cart now rusting on a side rail, there is a story. It would be ineresting to also zoom in tight on this front car showing the wheels and rust and that track covered in snow. I'll bet there are a number of compositions that could be explored here... very fun stuff. I will have to explore this subject myself someday. Nice job Karen.

Nicely composed. Like the new engine against the old train at the end of the line.

Might need a plow on the front of the engine for the foreground tracks :)
You could post train shots every day and I wouldn't get tired.

Love trains too - must be a boyhood thing. We used to flatten pennies and even jump on the slow ones back in the Canadian prairies in the 50s. Thanks for the nostalgia trip :o)

Nice shot, Karen. I like trains too. I'd have had to run out and put a quarter on the track. Never grew outta that, I guess.
