Karen this is a beautiful place. I wish I could be there. The overgrown condition of this place gives a lot of charm. Well done.

If it makes it through the winter I'll bet this house will be totally swallowed up by the vegetation this time next year. Great colors and light. V

Home sweet home. Sadly, all too many of these old homes are in a similar state. Excellent composition and exposure.
Best regards,
Dick:)

Beautiful Karen. I love finding old buildings like this. They are always great to photograph. Well done.

Feels more like it's waiting for the proverbial straw that breaks the camel's back. It gives the appearance that it won't take too many more snow coverings on the roof to cause it to collapse back into a pile of fragmented wood, gradually decaying into mulch.
When that finally happens the verandah which probably once held people sitting on it chatting after a hard day's work, the windows which probably had the sound of laughter and tears passing through them at various times, all the memories connected with it will be gone. (As, probably, are many of the people who lived here so many years ago, for this does not look recently abandoned.)
At least it'll continue to exist in the virtual, photographic world after that happens.

Love it. Americana. Love the colors and the dappled light and the autumn colors. Is the red "Virginia creeper?"
