This kitten was born from a feral mother under my trailer. I could hear him mewling but never could discover its nesting spot.
When a neighbor shot the mother cat, he was forced from hiding by hunger. He took up residence in a maze of beams where he was unreachable.
I spent two weeks feeding him dry food moistened with milk to make it soft enough and taming him. After about a week, he allowed me to pet his head. At this point the entire area and kitten were flea infested. To the point where I would have to strip my clothes off after exiting because of the hundreds of fleas crawling on them.
I treated him with Frontline although he was still a little too young in preparation to bringing him indoors. I waited a couple days and when he came out to the edge to eat, grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and put it in a pet carrier and brought him indoors where I put him in a bathroom for two days to acclimate him.
I named him Hissy Kitty because that is all he did when we first met. :)
