The Spirit of Ontario has a length of 284 feet, a beam of 78 feet
and a maximum draft of 11 feet. She carries 774 passengers, 238 cars
or 10 full size trucks, and operates with a crew of 26 at a maximum
speed of 45.6 knots. The two passenger decks are equipped with business
travel amenities such as restaurants, lounges, two movie theaters,
and a variety of seating arrangements as well as satellite TV and
Internet access.

The vessel is powered by four MTU 20 V 8000 diesel engines deliver a
total propulsive power of 44,000 HP at a rated speed of 1150 rpm.
The fuel consumption is below 195 g/kWh across a very broad power
range and less than 190 g/kWh at the most economical point,
while keeping NOx emissions below the limits required by IMO.
Propulsion is provided by four Wartsila Lips stainless steel reversible
waterjets providing superior maneuverability, rugged durability
and high performance.
