Series of linked parks on the banks of the James River in Downtown Richmond. This is easily one of the most fun parks i have ridden, and to be set in in the middle of a major metro area is just amazing. Rocky, great climbs, amazing rock work all over, this place has something for everyone.
Headed out in the am to Richmond
James River Park System. Ya think they have an invasive problem?
North side, so fun. Bridges in the distance
The switchbacks here are built so bomber. Cribs/armoring everywhere
Great signage
Lots of the bridges here use rocks or bricks in the center, makes for awesome traction
The sign on the fence warns people of fast moving bikes.
Rock garden under the Lee Bridge
This switchback must have been 1000's of man hours in the making
Extra rocks? Rock-over!
Drainage area, the rock-up across this "stream crossing" was harder than it looks
Drainage, tunnels lead toward Forest Hill Park
The rock up
Forest Hill. The climbs here were insane-o. The cement thing was the end of a long descent
Coming back from forest hill, this is right alongside a road.
Bridge to Belle Isle
Suspended pedestrian walkway to Belle Isle, super cool
Early 1900's structure on Belle Isle
This was the exit from a super steep descent on Belle Isle.
Headed back to the truck
Nice long day in the saddle. Little side trip to Carytown for lunch and a bike shop run.
