Lockerbie, 2019

Lockerbie is a border town in Dumfries and Galloway, south-western Scotland. It lies
approximately 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Glasgow, and 25 km (16 mi) from the border with England.
It had a population of 4,009 at the 2001 census. The town came to international attention in December 1988
when the wreckage of Pan Am Flight 103 crashed there following a terrorist bomb attack aboard the flight.
On December 21, 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 259 people
on board as well as 11 on the ground. Though it was almost immediately evident that a bomb had caused the disaster,
it took more than eleven years to bring anyone to trial.

This was one of those events that will always leave a hole in my heart. I knew
no one who perished in this act of terrorism, but my heart may never be healed in this life.
