Jan, this is a very nice shot, but you were caught on a day with flat light and what appears to be a bald sky. As a result the sky portion of the picture is dull and uninteresting and the natural colors are not saturated. The next time you are caught in this situation slap a polarizing filter on the lens... this will cut the reflectivity of the leaves and that pink structure and additionally cut the reflectivity of the water. This will result in greater color saturation and give the photo the "punch" it deserves. Also, by using a polarizing filter you will lose two f-stops, so use a tripod.
