Having arrived at Takayama after 4pm, we did not had much time to do anything after checking in. Like the Minshuku/Onyado we stayed, this ryokan comes complete with kaiseki dinner too. Dinner at 5.30pm was a 8 course meal. If the dinner at Daikichi was elaborate, this was very awesome.
We took a stroll around the city around 8pm and it was really quiet. Most places and businesses were closed for the day.
The Miyagawa River is a symbol of Takayama. During winter, it helps to wash away excess snow and in summer, it cools the area.
