Norwegian Air Shuttle AS is a low-fare, point-to-point airline, registered on the Oslo Stock Exchange, employing approx. 1200 people. In September 2002 Norwegian launched a program of low-cost domestic flights between Oslo and Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Tromso using a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. On April 5th, 2003 the company initiated low-cost flights to destinations in Spain and Portugal. During the summer of 2003, the network was expanded with flights to the Norwegian cities Alta, Harstad/Narvik, Bodø og Aalesund, and international routes to London and Stockholm. Today Norwegian operates a total of 130 routes – 11 domestic and 119 international. Norwegian has 24 aircraft of Boeing 737-300 with 148 seats.
