:: There Was a Green Hill :: by Tim Ashley

Belle Toute Lighthouse - a friend of mine used to live in it - has been moved backwards to avoid the sea as it claws away at the cliffs around Beachy Head. It looked very comely yesterday with a its shrinking cowl of snow.

G'day Tim - I missed seeing your unique vision, inc. the aspect ration, when you left the km forum, i guess just after you purchased the 14n? I was really pleased to see you and your work here. Cheers, adrian

Hi Flick - I processed this again in order to bring out more of the detail from the RAW file and at the same time I tried to get the colours more accurate - i.e. to get the deciduous trees more brown than green and the field more green than it was in the earlier version, but still brownish. I think it 's more accurate now - or at least that was the intention! Tim

Is it my imagination or have your greens gone browner in these two?
Flick.

Thanks for the encouragement chaps. I went back to Kodak's PhotoDesk today to try to sort this one out - the RAW file was a true pig - flat and nasty - and Photoshop RAW converter left me with a not-too-good result. Photodesk may have the ergonomics of a Trabant but when the chips are down, it can find stuff in a RAW file that makes all the difference! Tim

I think this is my favorite of the three, Tim. Very expansive, yet peaceful. Inspirational. I'll bet this would look great printed as a large wall hanging. -- DF
