angelofthenorth by Lou smith

Not my everyday environment, but following a stroke suffered recently by my mother, I am spending a lot of time in GeordieLand, where I snapped this.

This one suddenly grabbed me when i saw it fullscreen. As Flick says, it's the juxtaposition with the bystander that makes it work. In my imagination this is because even though he's dwarfed by the sculpture, he has a freedom of movement that makes the monolith look trapped, rather than dominant. Tim.

Great colour and i really like the way the bystander is leaning in towards the sculpture, as if magnetised.
BTW, I hope your mother is on the road to recovery.
Flick.
